Common Bathroom Struggles and How to Fix Them

orlando drywall installation to fix common bathroom issuesFor many homeowners, the bathroom is a sanctuary, a place to get away from the rest of the world and unwind with a bubble bath or a hot shower. Many master bathrooms have been getting the deluxe treatment, as homeowners try to create their own in-home spas. However, no two people’s sanctuaries are the same – and when those two people live together, they may have some disagreements about how the bathroom is organized and presented.

While we hope that none of these issues have been dealbreakers for you, we understand just how annoying they can be – and that’s why we want to offer you some solutions. From the Orlando drywall installation team at New Ceilings, here are 3 easy fixes for common quarrels in the Throne Room:

  • Issue: My partner leaves their clothes on the floor. Solution: Make a laundry alcove. It can be unbelievably frustrating to enter a bathroom strewn with dirty clothes, especially if the hamper is just a few feet away. But keeping that hamper in line of sight of the bathroom is the best way to encourage your partner to put those clothes where they belong! If you don’t already have space for it, you can expand your bathroom to include a laundry alcove and prep station.
  • Issue: My partner doesn’t put their shampoo bottles back in the caddy. Solution: Create a built-in alcove with dedicated space. Psychology tells us that highlighting functional areas with splashes of color will make people more likely to utilize them. If your partner neglects to put the bottles back in the caddy, maybe it’s not bright enough! Instead of finding another one, why not build an alcove into the shower wall and highlight it with bright decorative tile?
  • Issue: My partner won’t clean the grout. Solution: Skip the grout entirely. We don’t know a single person who enjoys scrubbing grout – you probably don’t, either. Why not keep that in mind when you design your bathroom? Use single-sheet materials to avoid a grout seam. You can even mount the toilet to the wall to avoid that nasty ring around the base.

A little nod to design and a pinch of drywall installation can go a long way to help your relationship stay smooth. Ready to get started on one of these projects? Get in touch with the team at New Ceilings. Schedule your free consultation by calling 407-378-6040 today.
